Primary Transactions

DWPF’s core business is working alongside the sponsors of PFI and PPP bids, with the aim of creating optimal financial and commercial solutions that deliver best value to public sector authorities, ultimately leading to successful transactions.

DWPF is often engaged at the pre-qualification stage of transactions, however our involvement in primary deals can also begin with the earlier identification of opportunities and creation of bidding consortia. DWPF supports its clients on opportunities all the way through the formal bidding and competitive dialogue processes, to the preferred bidder stage and, ultimately, financial close.

Project size varies. However the majority of transactions we have worked on have financing requirements in the range of £20m to £200m.

We have primarily focused on the schools market, higher education, local government and public buildings, health and waste sectors. One example is the University sector where DWPF has advised on over 25 primary transactions to reach financial close, providing new residential accommodation for over 15 major universities in the UK.  
  
By their very nature, publicly procured contracts can involve detailed and lengthy negotiations and DWPF is committed to streamlining this process wherever possible through the adoption of new ideas, product innovation, and by the application of experience.

A typical transaction sees lead involvement in the following areas:
