ICAEW financial modelling code

Best practice

13th November 2018

DWPF, an ICAEW approved training employer, is pleased to announce its support in the development of the ICAEW’s (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) informational guide on best-practice financial modelling. The publication, ‘Financial Modelling Code’, provides guidance to standard-setters, procurers and modellers on good practices to minimise spreadsheet risk.

The principles-based code provides high-level guidance that can used across all sectors and practices, unlike many existing methodologies that are detail-oriented and not widely applicable. The full report can be found here.

Ramon Sequeira, Director and Head of Financial Modelling, said: “As a leading financial advisory, modelling, and model audit firm, committed to improving standards across the industry, DWPF is pleased to have supported the ICAEW in the establishment of a widely agreed set of principles.”
